On the 10th April 2015 Four Oaks MD, Martin Ward, had a bit of a shock. Just after finishing a meeting with Mark Tonks, his long-time client and friend, Mark collapsed suffering a major heart attack. This came completely out of the blue and was a life changing event. Mark was admitted to The Royal Stoke Hospital where he had a triple heart bypass. He spent 25 days in hospital and whilst lying in his hospital bed Mark wondered how long it would take to walk home. The answer is 35 miles and around 13 hours.

On the 1st May, almost a year after Mark got home Four Oaks is delighted to be sponsoring The Long Walk Home. Mark Tonks, Martin Ward and a group of other local businessmen will in one day starting at 6am walk 35 miles from The Royal Stoke Hospital to the Crown Pub in Four Oaks. They are aiming to raise £10,000 in support of The Buddy Bag Foundation and The British Heart Foundation.
