Congratulations to Paraplanner, Lily Jackson and Mortgage & Protection Adviser, Emily Walker on passing their Unit 4 Pensions and Retirement Planning examination. Emily and Lily are a dynamic duo when it comes to studying for their professional qualifications. Although they study independently, they are able to clarify things with each other and keep each other motivated which are the main benefits of studying and taking their exams at the same time. They both have two examinations left to pass in order to achieve the Diploma in Professional Financial Advice.
Both Lily and Emily said that this examination was hard because of the sheer size of the syllabus. They were required to know in detail about current pensions and historical products that are no longer available, taxation in respect of pensions and retirement planning, the aims and objectives of different products including State and private products.
Lily, who has worked in the financial services sector for a long-time and has a great deal of experience said “The volume of what candidates are required to know made the revising quite daunting, but I have been dealing with pensions for many years and it is a subject I feel comfortable with but legislation has changed a lot and continues to change and I need to ensure that I keep up to date.” As a Paraplanner Lily works closely with our team of financial advisers who provide financial advice in Sutton Coldfield and surrounding area.
Mortgage & Protection Adviser, Emily said “The syllabus was interesting but this was the hardest examination we have taken to date. The need to know about current and historic pensions and the tax regime in relation to pensions and retirement planning means that you need a huge amount of knowledge to pass the exam. It is a big relief to have done it.”
Lily and Emily have already started to study for their next examination which is on Investments. Congratulations and well done to both of you.
