Welcoming Carl Hobbins To Our Adviser Team

Financial Adviser Sutton Coldfield
Carl Hobbins, Financial Adviser

We are delighted to announce that Financial Adviser, Carl Hobbins has joined our team of Advisers. Carl has worked in financial services for over 12 years. He has held management roles at HSBC and Lloyds Bank in the role of Area Mortgage Manager, responsible for the development and performance of mortgage advisers. Most recently Carl has operated his own successful practice.

Over recent years the financial services sector has seen a huge increase in additional admin and compliance tasks that Advisers must carry out.  Here at Four Oaks Financial Services we have a large support team to assist Carl.  This will free up more of his time to do what he enjoys most which is advising his clients.

Carl says “I’ve joined Four Oaks for three reasons. Firstly, the professional back-office support provided to me.  Secondly, as part of a larger practice my clients will be able to access a wider range of financial planning services. Thirdly, Four Oaks are part of the Quilter Financial Planning network. The largest network of Financial Advisers in the UK and whom in November 2019 was voted number 1 in the FTAdviser Top 100 Advisers Ranking. It is great to be able to tell my clients that I am part of the network that sponsors the Rugby!”

Carl’s claim to fame is….

My claim to fame is having dinner with Howard Webb a number of years ago, an ex-professional football referee, after attending a motivational speaker conference he presented at. We discussed family life as well as his involvement refereeing the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. It was fascinating discussing his run-ins with some of football’s most prolific football Managers throughout his career.

Andy Robinson Is Now A Fully Qualified Financial Adviser

Financial Adviser Sutton Coldfield
Andy Robinson, Financial Adviser

Andy Robinson joined us in February 2020 after a successful career in business and being an Olympic standard athlete. He had only experienced financial services from the client-side but set the goal of becoming a fully qualified Financial Adviser by the end of the Summer. Which he has achieved. He passed all of the arduous professional examinations first time.

Andy joined our fast-track training programme at the end of March and, owing to lockdown, found himself in many virtual classrooms. Whilst he didn’t get the personal interaction with colleagues, he was able to focus entirely on his studies.

But Andy’s training doesn’t end with obtaining his Financial Adviser qualification. He has a training programme in place shadowing our Managing Director Martin Ward and gaining experience with the support of our whole team.

Having been the managing director of his own business for over 30 years, until its sale, and then a business consultant, Andy is very well placed to provide financial advice to businesses in Sutton Coldfield.

Andy says “Having spent most of my working life in owner managed businesses I fully understand the challenges, hopes and dreams that business owners have. Using all that I have learned and my business experience, I am looking forward to advising entrepreneurs and SME business owners. People who are after all, the backbone of our economy, and especially during this difficult trading period and not forgetting Brexit is only a few weeks away.”

Congratulations from the whole team. We know how hard you have worked.
