Our Christmas Tree In Local Church Festival

Financial Advisers Sutton Coldfield
The Four Oaks Financial Services Christmas Tree

We are always happy to help and support our local community and were delighted to enter a tree into the Aldridge Methodist Church Christmas Tree Festival.  This was the first time we have entered, and we put in a lot of time and effort into the design and decoration of our tree. The theme was “face-to-face financial advice”.  So, we sourced clear baubles and inserted photographs of each of our Advisers. We sourced toy money and made rosette Christmas decorations with chocolate coins as the centres. We then festooned the tree with baubles and chocolate.

We were amazed by the number of trees that were entered, well over 50 trees. The amount of work and imagination that had gone into them was incredible and the standard was very high.  The trees were voted for by members of the public who purchased tokens for £1 and put the tokens into a jar attached to their favourite tree.  We didn’t win this year, that accolade went to The Rock Choir and was well deserved because their tree was fantastic. We will be back next year though!

Thank you to Olivia and Lisa Arnold for your hard work.  When they are not designing Christmas trees Olivia and Lisa are members of our support team helping our Financial Advisers who give financial advice in Sutton Coldfield and across the area.

We Are One Of The Top 100 Financial Advisers

Financial Advisers Sutton ColdfieldAs a firm we are part of the Quilter Financial Planning network, the largest network of Financial Advisers in the UK. In November 2019 Quilter Financial Planning was voted number 1 in the FTAdviser Top 100 Advisers Ranking.  So, as one of the foremost members of the network we have helped them to achieve this accolade and share this success.

FTAdviser is the premier weekly newspaper for the UK financial services sector and is part of the Financial Times organisation. FTAdviser looked at a number of criteria notably adviser experience, staff stability, quality of advice, adviser qualifications and so on. Quilter Financial Planning has jumped five places this year to reach the top spot. They attribute this to a new phase of growth and their commitment to improving the technology which supports us and therefore our clients.

At Four Oaks Financial Services we are committed to providing the highest quality face-to-face financial advice and pride ourselves on the quality of our Financial Advisers, the advice they give, and the overall service provided by everyone in our team.

Our 14-strong team of Advisers deliver financial advice local to Sutton Coldfield and across the wider region.

Some Of The Most Qualified Financial Advisers In Sutton Coldfield

Financial Adviser Sutton Coldfield
Ian Cleghorn, Chartered Financial Planner

Our team of Financial Advisers in Sutton Coldfield are amongst the most qualified in the area. They are a modest bunch and don’t particularly like to be seen “blowing their own trumpets”. However, our clients need to know that all our Advisers are qualified to give advice appropriate to their qualifications.

Not all Financial Advisers in Sutton Coldfield are qualified to give financial advice on everything. However, with a 14 strong team of advisers with many years of experience between them at Four Oaks Financial Services we have the breadth and depth of Advisers to give financial advice on every aspect of financial planning.

We have Financial Advisers in Sutton Coldfield who, as you would assume, are qualified to give advice on financial protection and mortgages. But we also have Financial Advisers who are qualified to give advice on Long Term Care Planning, Equity Release and complex pension cases. For all of these aspects of financial planning the adviser has to be separately qualified and has taken specialist examinations in order to be allowed to give this kind of advice.

Ian Cleghorn is our most qualified Financial Adviser. Ian is possibly the most qualified Financial Adviser in the Midlands region. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. As one of our Financial Advisers in Sutton Coldfield, he is qualified to give advice on Long Term Care and Equity Release and specialises in complex pension planning.

Several of our other Financial Advisers are also additionally qualified to give advice on Long Term Care planning and Alan Woolford and Mark Timmins are also qualified to give advice on Equity Release. In total we have ten Financial Advisers in Sutton Coldfield who are fully qualified with the required Level 4 qualification in financial planning. This means they are trained and skilled in providing financial advice on things like savings and investments, Inheritance Tax planning, pension planning and corporate financial planning.

We pride ourselves on providing a structured career path for all of our staff, and Emily Walker was the first person to transition from a support role to that of a Mortgage & Protection Adviser. We have other advisers who are qualified to give advice on Mortgages and/or financial protection, and they are working their way through their qualifications to become fully qualified.

As Financial Advisers in Sutton Coldfield we have a terrific reputation and a stable and committed team of Advisers and support staff. When people come to work for us, they tend to stay. In 2019 we only had one person leave the company and that was because their family relocated.

The value of pensions and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

Inheritance Tax Planning is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Equity Release will reduce the value of your estate and can affect your eligibility for means tested benefits.

Think carefully before securing your debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Mortgage Advice Sutton Coldfield From Our New Female Mortgage Advisers

L – R Charlotte Trueman, Head of Client Support and Advisers Karen Hagan, Susie Leek, Sue Cassar and Emily Walker

Seeking any kind of financial advice can be daunting, and looking for mortgage advice in Sutton Coldfield is no exception.  We’ve had feedback from female clients that although they have no problem talking to a man about their finances, sometimes they would prefer to speak to a woman.  The reasons we’ve been given suggest that another woman might better understand their circumstances, especially when it comes to getting mortgage advice in Sutton Coldfield if this is owing to a divorce or separation.

Sometimes, female clients come to us seeking advice owing to the breakdown of a relationship and this has resulted in the family home being sold, or them having to move out of the family home, or they need a mortgage in order to remain in the family home. This may well be the first time they have had to contemplate having a mortgage in their own right and getting mortgage advice in Sutton Coldfield from a female adviser is something they would value.

At Four Oaks Financial Services we have four female advisers in our team.  Emily Walker specialises in mortgages and financial protection, as does Susie Leek. Sue Cassar is qualified to provide advice on all aspects of financial planning, including mortgage advice for Sutton Coldfield clients, and of course clients who live further afield. Our fourth female financial adviser is Karen Hagan, who has a passion for financial protection, pension planning and investments.

Sue Cassar has worked in the financial services sector for many years, and as a Financial Adviser she believes that her role is not to “sell” financial products, such as mortgages, but to use her skills and knowledge to help her clients get what they want to achieve.

Emily is a qualified Mortgage & Protection Adviser.  But before she qualified, she was a member of our team at Four Oaks Financial Services for over 5 years, working along-side and supporting our team of Financial Advisers especially helping our clients with their mortgage applications.

Susie Leek is an experienced Mortgage & Protection Adviser, having spent many years in the role of Mortgage & Protection Manager at HSBC. Therefore, with Emily, Susie and Sue on hand any client seeking mortgage advice in Sutton Coldfield from a female adviser will be in exceptionally good hands.

The first meeting with any of our financial advisers is at our cost and without obligation. We are well-known for making our advice easy to understand and will always provide advice that we believe is in the best interests of our client. We promise to always be honest, open and transparent. So, if you are feeling daunted by the prospect of seeking mortgage advice in Sutton Coldfield please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Pigs On The Loose In Our Car Park

Financial Advice Sutton Coldfield
Pigs On Our Car Park

We’ve got a group of local pigs, of whom we are very fond.  But they do have a knack of getting out of their enclosure and out on to the main road.  On several occasions our team has rushed out of the office and safely guided them home! They’ve even been found asleep on a neighbour’s drive and rummaging through a garden. Thank you to our support team and Financial Advisers who give financial advice in Sutton Coldfield for going to the rescue of the pigs.

In support of our nominated charity, Buddy Bag Foundation, we entered four teams from Four Oaks Financial Services into their quiz night. Sally’s Fan Club (named in honour of one of our local pigs) came second. So, congratulations to Charlotte Trueman, Gemma Randle, Lisa Arnold, Annemarie Fraser and Olivia Arnold who, in their day-jobs, support our Financial Advisers who provide financial advice local to Sutton Coldfield.

The event was held at Little Aston Golf Club, and another of our teams came 3rd. A fantastic night was had by all and £700 was raised for Buddy Bag Foundation.

Well done Sally’s Fan Club!

Nick Hepburn Goes Back To School

Financial Advice Sutton Coldfield
Nick Hepburn

Another member of our team is taking their next step on their career path at Four Oaks Financial Services.  Nick Hepburn has been accepted to join the Quilter Financial Adviser School.  Nick works in our Paraplanning team but has set his sights on becoming a fully qualified Financial Adviser by the end of January 2021.

Nick had to work hard to get accepted into the School having to pass a rigorous set of tests and an assessment day. The Quilter Financial Adviser School enables students to study and sit all of the six required exams for a Level 4 qualification in 12 months.

He has worked in our Paraplanning team for over 18 months and has acquired a good knowledge of financial services terminology and procedures, which will put him in good stead.  He is looking forward to joining our team of Financial Advisers providing financial advice in Sutton Coldfield. Nick will transition from Paraplanning to Advising as he gets qualified first to give Advice on Protection, then Mortgages and finally being fully qualified.

Nick says “This is a great opportunity for me to progress in my career. I’ve already had offers of help with role-play exercises from the Financial Advisers and support from my colleagues who have already taken some of the exams. Prior to coming to Four Oaks I was in the fitness industry working one to one with clients, now I will be able to help people to get fit, financially.”
